Summer starts here!
Field Trips, Friends, Fun, Memories
Many Amazing Things
Spark's summer adventure program is designed to be a fun day long program for kids who cannot be home. Each summer we try to add more and more exciting activities. This year is no different, browse through some of the activities offered this year!
Toys and Games
This year we've added more toys and games than ever. LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Trains, Army Men, Lincoln Logs, K'NEX, Play-Doh, Disney Princess, Jenga, Monopoly, Sorry, Memory, Puzzles, Pop the Pig, Scrabble, Twister, Bop It, HedBanz, Uno, and many many more toys and games are ready for action!
Sports/Group Games
Kids will have the option to participate in different group games, including: basketball, kickball, mum, etc.
Hop Brook Lake/ NHS Pool
Each Wednesday and Friday students in grades K-3 will head to Hop Brook Lake between the hours of 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. The staff and children will be bused to the lake on swim days. Additional staff and a lifeguard for Spark will be scheduled during swim times. While at the lake, children will remain in a designated area, always under staff supervision. Students in grades 4 and up will go to the NHS pool from 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Arcade
This year Spark is bringing in all new games for both the gym and cafeteria. This year's arcade will feature: pool tables, basketball, retro arcade games, 2 sit-down racing games, SpeedBall game, dance dance revolution, and more! All the games will be monitored by a staff member to ensure safety and that all children are receiving a turn on the games.
Field Trips
Our Summer Adventure Program features one field trip each week (on Thursdays). Because all staff chaperone the field trips, there will be no care onsite during the hours of the field trip. This means that all children scheduled for a field trip day need to attend the trip. The program will be onsite during regular operating hours before and after the trip. Some of this years field trips include: Movies, Flight, Lake Compounce, Quassy, Laser Planet, Urban Air Adventure Park, Brownstone Park, and many more!

Summer is about Fun!
Gym and Outdoor Play
Children will rotate throughout the day to different areas. During our rotation, we will move from the cafeteria or gym, outside to the blacktop, then to the playground. While on the blacktop/grass, kids will be able to play kick ball, four square, soccer, play will chalk, football, use our sprinklers, and just have fun being a kid! On the playground they will be able to go on the swings, play on the playscape, play catch, etc. Staff will always have a phone, first aid kit, medication bag, and attendance sheet with them while moving to the different stations.
Snack and Lunch
You work up an appetite when you are having this much fun. Spark provides children with nutritional snacks twice during the day. Once at 9:30 a.m. and again at 3:30 p.m. Children will be able to eat lunch at 12:00 p.m. Please note that it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to pack a lunch for their child everyday. Certain field trips will not have lunch provided. For those field trips, please pack your child a lunch. We will always let parents know in the beginning of the week whether the field trip provides lunch or not.
Other Fun Activities
Children will also have the opportunity during their free play time to do arts and crafts, build LEGO sets, play on the tablets, read a book, or even occasionally watch a movie (rainy day activity). If your child brings a toy or activity from home, it is their responsibility to keep track of it throughout the day. If there are other activities, toy/games, or fun classes you think we should offer at Spark, let us know!

Parents should bring the following items along with their child:
